Welcome!

I am a social demographer and family sociologist. With a theory-driven mixed-methods approach, my research examines social inequality through the lens of marriage and family.

My primary interests include gender, fertility, union formation, politics of reproduction, and innovative methods. Combining statistical analysis of survey data, original in-depth interviews, and agent-based computational modeling, I study both Western and non-Western societies. Under the Research tab, you will find my current projects.

I received my B.A. degrees in Urdu Literature and Sociology from Peking University, China in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University in 2017. I am currently Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Population Studies and Training Center, Brown University.
