I am deeply committed to sociological and demographic research that reaches a wide audience, informs policy, and serves the community with the goal of creating a more just world. I volunteer at the SafeHouse Center in Ann Arbor as a shelter/helpline volunteer, working with survivors of sexual violence and domestic violence, their significant others, and other service providers. Before moving to Michigan, I volunteered at the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) since 2016, providing office support, and later underwent training and worked as a weekly hotline counselor.
I also contribute regularly to a number of media outlets and provide comments and op-ed articles on human and reproductive rights, gender equity, and social inequality in China.
